EveryStreet

Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026 · Version 2026-09-29

The short version. We collect only what we need to run EveryStreet. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. Churches own the information about the people they visit, and we protect it and use it only to provide the app. You can ask us to see, fix, or delete your information at any time.

1. Who this covers

This policy explains how Jeremiah Chamberland, doing business as EveryStreet (“EveryStreet,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information in the EveryStreet app and website. It covers two groups of people: (a) app users such as church volunteers, staff, and guests who make an account, and (b) people who are recorded in a church’s notes (for example neighbors visited, bus riders, and their families). For group (b), the church decides why and how the information is used; we store and process it for the church as its service provider.

2. What we collect

TypeExamples
Account informationYour name, email address, a scrambled (hashed) password, your role and church, and an optional phone number.
Church Data entered by usersNames, addresses, phone numbers, ages and family relationships, visit dates and notes, follow-up and route information, attendance, bus rider details, chat messages, and uploaded photos or documents such as signed permission forms.
Sensitive informationBecause this is a church tool, notes may include spiritual decisions or beliefs, family circumstances, and details about children. This is entered by churches, and we treat it as sensitive. We do not ask for or use it for any purpose other than running the app for the church.
LocationWhen you allow it, your device’s position is used in the app to show you on your own map and to place a marker or trace a street. Your live position is not saved or shared; only the markers and knocked-street lines you choose to create are saved.
Knocked-street linesWhen you mark a street as knocked, the line on the map and the date are saved with your church (or your private notebook). A combined, anonymous copy of these lines (see “Who can see it”) is used for the EveryStreet coverage map.
Device and technical informationBrowser type, push-notification token (if you turn notifications on), and basic logs. When you sign up, a one-way scrambled form of your network address is kept for up to 3 days to stop abuse.
Sign-up checksA six-digit code sent to your email (kept for 15 minutes, in scrambled form) and a Cloudflare “not a robot” check.

3. How we use it

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

4. Who can see it

5. Companies that help us (sub-processors)

CompanyWhat it does
SupabaseDatabase, sign-in, and file storage. Church Data is stored here.
CloudflareHosts the app and runs the “not a robot” check on the sign-up page.
GoogleGoogle Maps (maps and address lookup) and Gmail (sending sign-up codes). Google’s own privacy policy applies to its services.
Push services (Apple, Google, Mozilla)Deliver notifications to your device if you turn them on.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or transfer of the Service (the new owner must honor this policy).

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and Church Data for as long as the account or the church’s workspace is active. When a church or a person asks us to close it, we delete or anonymize the information within a reasonable time (normally within 30 days), except what the law requires us to keep and copies in routine backups that expire on their normal schedule. Knocked-street lines in the coverage map are the exception: we cut their link to the church and may keep the plain line and date, which identify no person or church. Sign-up codes are kept 15 minutes and sign-up abuse logs up to 3 days.

7. How we protect it

Information travels over encrypted connections. Our hosting providers encrypt stored data. Passwords are stored only in scrambled form. Access is limited by role and by church, and new sign-ups pass a robot check and email verification. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect misuse.

8. Children

EveryStreet is for adult and teen volunteers and is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not make accounts. Churches may record information about children they serve (for example bus riders). Churches are responsible for getting a parent’s or guardian’s permission first, and we ask them to use the permission form in the app. A parent or guardian who wants to see, correct, or delete a child’s information should contact the church first; you may also write to us and we will help the church act on the request. If you believe a child under 13 has made an account, tell us and we will delete it.

9. Your choices and rights

10. Cookies and similar storage

We use only what the app needs to work: your signed-in session, a saved copy of your data for offline use, and settings such as the last screen you viewed. Cloudflare’s robot check may set its own technical cookie. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

11. Where information is handled

EveryStreet is operated from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand your information will be handled there.

12. Changes

We will post updates here and change the date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
